Over 40,000 turn out for Van Gogh sunflower labyrinth

The sunflower labyrinth on the Museumplein to celebrate the opening of the new entrance building to the Van Gogh Museum was a huge success. More than 40 thousand people visited the labyrinth over the weekend. The 125 thousand sunflowers used to build the labyrinth were distributed to the public on Sunday afternoon. Van Gogh Museum director Axel Ruger told the Telegraaf that he thought it was a very successful opening weekend, despite the unpredictable weather. The Van Gogh Museum's entrance is now also on the Museumplein, like the entrances of the Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum.
