Police intercept cannabis transport, 2 arrested

The police intercepted a cannabis transport in Tilburg on Saturday afternoon. About 5 kilograms of cannabis was confiscated and two men were arrested for violating the Opium Act. The arrests happened around 3:30 p.m. on the Geefhuishof in Tilburg. Officers responded to a report of a suspicious situation - a large number of goods were being transferred from a coffee shop into two cars with foreign licence plates. The police searched the cars and found several bags containing dried cannabis. The cannabis weighed in at about 5 kilograms. Two men, aged 24 and 42 years and both from Cologne, were arrested. The police seized the cannabis as well as one of the vehicles, a red Volkswagen delivery van, for further investigation.
