Woman's body found on Zandvoort beach
Police in Zandvoort sealed off part of the beach there after the body of a young woman was discovered washed ashore. Her identity is not known, police said Saturday.
Rescue teams in the Zandvoort area spent several days searching for a 20-year-old woman pulled out to sea despite efforts from two swimmers trying to save her.
The search was called off on Friday, but authorities said they would remain alert while patrolling the coastal area.
“Every effort has been made in the search for the woman, but we found nothing. She will remain in the book as missing.”, a spokesman for the regional safety office told NU.
The missing woman is mentally disabled and was on holiday in the Netherlands with a family visiting from abroad, newspaper AD reported.
