Search for missing swimmer called off
The search for the woman who went missing off the coast of Zandvoort on Wednesday, has been called off, a spokesperson for the Kennemerland safety office announced on Friday.
"Every effort has been made in the search for the woman, but we found nothing. She will remain in the book as missing.", the spokesperson said according to NU.
The police helicopter, Coast Guard and rescue team will continue to keep an eye out for the woman, but there will be no further active searching.
The woman disappeared into the ocean on Wednesday afternoon. Two swimmers tried to rescue her, but their efforts were in vain. Emergency services searched for the woman for two days, but found no trace of her.
