Color-dyed runners get compensation for stained hair, clothes

Insurance company Nationale Nederlanden will be paying compensation to runners whose hair and clothes were stained during the Crazy Color Run in Leeuwarden on June 28th. Participants of the Color Run were dismayed to realize that they were unable to wash the dye out of their hair. A large number of people had to turn to the hairdresser in the days following the run to fix their hair. Paint supplier Holi King admitted liability shortly after the run, saying that the problem was caused by the use of the wrong paint powder. The company is inured by Nationale Nederlanden. Laura van Lingen, spokesperson for the insurer, told Leeuwarder Courant on Thursday that hairdresser receipts can now be submitted for compensation. "Proof of registration (in the run, ed) together with a hairdresser receipt is enough to be eligible for compensation", she said. "This involves damage to clothes or in the hair." Complaints can be filed via the organizers' website. Those who already submitted a complaint through Colorsensation, do not have to do so again.
