The VVD will reserve judgement on the new about 80 billion euro aid package to Greece until the real bargaining agreement has been reached.

VVD Parliamentarian Mark Harbers said this in the debate on the Greek crisis in the Tweede Kamer, lower house of parliament, on Thursday, NRC reports. In this debate parliamentarians from the Committee for Finance and the Committee for European Affairs are discussing the Dutch contribution to the aid package for Greece with Prime Minister Mark Rutte and Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem of Finance.

Other parliamentarians reacted critically to the VVD's current standpoint. The ChristenUnie, SGP and D66 feel that the VVD can give an opinion on the current agreement, even if it has not been completely finalized yet. But Harbers maintains that his faction will only take in a standpoint once the government has sent the documents on the fully negotiated program to the Kamer.
