Solar panel sales double in Netherlands

Solar panel sales in the Netherlands has increased significantly this year. Importers and installers have seen sale increases of between 70 and 100 percent compared to 2014, BNR reports. The importers and installers attribute the increased sales to the fact there is now more clarity about subsidies and taxes. Individuals in particular are taking advantage of this and having solar panels installed. "What you seen ow is that 70 percent of solar panels are going to small users. That is pretty perfectly regulated in the Netherlands by a netting arrangements, but for larger roofs there are still challenges." Peter Desmet of Solarclarity one of the largest wholesalers in solar panels, said to BNR. Desmet expects that the rest of the year also has good sales prospects. He expects that some 2 million solar panels will be sold and installed throughout 2015. He does not see the price decreasing anytime soon, however.
