Construction crew pick up car in girl's rescue
Construction workers rescued an 11 year old girl in Oisterwijk on Monday morning by lifting a car off her after an accident.
The accident happened around 8:30 a.m. at the intersection of Jan van Eijckstraat and Budersstraat, according to the police. A 50 year old Oisterwijk crashed into two girls on bicycles. One of the girls ended up under the car and was dragged along for several meters.
Construction workers used a building stamp to lift the car and get the child out from underneath it. The 11 year old girl was conscious. She complained of pains in her chest and back and had several abrasions. She was rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Her 10 year old classmate sustained a slight injury to her knee. She did not have to go to the hospital.
The driver of the car gave a statement. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
