Arson likely cause of Haarlem mayor's car fire
Haarlem mayor Bernt Schneiders' car went up in flames around 1:00 a.m. on Monday morning. The car burnt out completely. The fire department believe that the fire was caused by arson.
The car was parked on Diconessenplei in Haarlem. The fire department arrived at the scene very quickly, but could not save the car, NOS reports.
The mayor watched as firefighters battled the flames. He has given a statement tot he police. A scooter and another car was also significantly damaged.
