Amsterdam breweries sweep Noord-Holland beer awards
Chocenbrouwer by Brewery Bru'd and was named the best beers of Noord-Holland at the Beer Festival in the Grote Kerk in Alkmaar on Sunday afternoon.
Chocenbrouwer was chosen by the trade jury. "We were very surprised", said Fiona de Lange, chairman of the trade jury, RTL Nieuws reports. "It has only 5.5 percent alcohol and is very versatile, from coffee to chocolate and mocha. As the makers themselves say: breakfast beer."
Amsterdam brewery Bru'd is thrilled. "Fucking amazing!" the makers responded. "We are completely stunned. We did not see this coming. We will continue to improve the beer even more!"
Second and third place also went to breweries from Amsterdam. Second place went to the Stennis beer from brewery Bruut Bier and third place went to Stout+Moedig by brewery De 7 Deugden.
