Cyclist dragged off bike, beaten & mugged
A cyclist was beaten to the ground and robbed of his belongings by two men on Guido Gezellestraat in Terneuzen on Sunday around 5:00 a.m.
The 34 year old man was cycling on the bike path from the traffic lights on Zuidlandstraat. Two men approached him from the opposite direction between Frederik van Eedenstraat and Alvarezlaan. The men forced him to stop. The men pulled him off his bike and beat him to the ground. They robbed him of his cellphone, money and various cards as he lay on the ground and then fled.
The victim walked to an acquaintance and called the police. Police officers took him to a doctor in Terneuzen with injuries to his face and one of his arms.
The only description the police have of the perpetrators is that they are male, between 22 and 25 years old, about 1.7 to 1.75 meters tall and had skinny builds. The police are investigating the mugging and ask any witnesses to please come forward.
