Young kids stumble on human skull while playing

Some children discovered a human skull in Veenendaal while playing on Saturday afternoon. The skull was found in the bushes at the edge of an event site. According to RTL Nieuws, the skull is very old and is likely from a former cemetery. The police do not think that a crime had been committed. Skeletal remains from former cemeteries are sometimes reburied at another location. Though it does not happen often, passersby have been known to find a piece of bone or something similar.
