Jumbo, C1000 orders ready-made salads recall
Supermarket chain Jumbo and C1000 is recalling all Italian chicken salads. Due to a manufacturing error, raw chicken was added to the salads instead to cooked chicken, which could lead to consumers getting salmonella, NOS reports.
The salmonella bacteria is common in raw chicken. Salmonella causes symptoms such as diarrhea and fever, which can be dangerous to children, pregnant women, the elderly and people with a weakened immunity.
According to Jumbo, other variations of the salads are safe for consumption. The raw chicken ended up in the salad due to a manufacturing error.
