Europe crowdfunding tax unnerves D66 MP

The D66 wants clarification from Finance Minister Jeroen Dijsselbloem about reports that the European Commission might impose extra taxes on crowdfunding. D66 Parliamentarian Wouter Koolmees confirmed this to NU, saying that he sent a written request for an explanation to the minister. According to the British newspaper the Financial Times, the European Commission is working on multiple plans to charge extra tax for crowdfunding. This tax would be on top of the tax already payable in the Netherlands. Koolmees called that "undesirable". In March Dijsselbloem announced his intention to remove obstacles to make crowdfunding easier. Last year more than 63 million euros was raised through crowdfunding in the Netherlands and more than 2 thousand companies were successfully financed.
