Two arrested in separate train worker threats
The police arrested two men for threatening train workers in two separate incidents on Monday.
The first suspect, a 49 year old man from Wolphaartsdijk, was arrested at around 01:00 a.m. on Stationsplein in Vlissingen. Th train driver found the man sleeping in the train shortly after it arrived in Vlissingen. The driver woke the man. The man threatened the driver and fled. Police officers spotted a man meeting the suspects description in front of the station and arrested him. He is in police custody for further investigation.
The second suspect, a 29 year old man from Zaltbommel, was arrested on the Passewaay station on Monday night. The train conductor tried to check the man's ticket on the train from Tiel to Utrecht. The man refused to produce his ticket and threatened the conductor. The conductor immediately alreted the police, who arrested the man at the Passewaay station. He is in custody for questioning.
