Elderly man, 90, drives car into Albert Heijn
A 90-year-old man drove through the doors of an Albert Heijn store on Callunaplein in Dieren earlier today. The driver was taken to the hospital, and nobody else was injured in the incident, reports Gelderlander.
The man felt unwell in the parking lot and wanted to hit the brakes, but instead punched the gas of his Mazda 323, according to the fire department on the scene. He crashed into another car and then hit the entrance of the shop.
There were several shoppers inside the store at the time of the accident. Due to the damages incurred, the supermarket is now closed.
