Police phone lines down as cops continue protest
The police's non-emergency phone lines will be temporarily unavailable on Friday due to another action against the lack of a favorable collective bargaining offer from Minster Ard van der Steur of Security and Justice.
The police unions have called on police officers to attend a work meeting in The Hague and the phone centers will therefore be unoccupied.
This is the latest in a long line of police actions. Other actions included painting a large sign on the trail of the Rotterdam Marathon, a police march in The Hague, sounding of sirens, driving slowly on highways, only writing tickets for serious offenses, and closing police stations for 2 hours. The unions also organized an action to take place around the cyber conference in The Hague last week, but thecourt ruled that this action could not take place.
