Wilders not afraid his former lawyer is entering politics
PVV leader Geert Wilders is not worried by the fact that his former lawyer, Bram Moszkowicz, is on his way to The Hague as leader of the new right-wing political party VoorNederland (VNL).
"I think the people know who they must go to far the real, original PVV-sound." Wilders said, according to the AD. "Whether you are Hero Brinkman, Bram Moszkowicz or Louis Bontes, anyone can, may and will perhaps create a political party."
The VNL presented Moszkowics as the leader for the next Tweede Kamer, lower house of parliament, election on Tuesday. VNL was formed by former PVV parliamentarians Louis Bontes, Joram van Klaveren and Johan Driessen. According to De Telegraaf, Moszkowics appointment as leader caused some strife within the newly formed party. Bontes is vehemently against it, speaking of an "incompatibility of characters". "I tried to stop it. But there are three members sitting on the board. Two are for his appointment. It's that simple." he said.
Other parties also seem unconcerned by Moszkowics entering politics. "I thought you asked whether there was competition coming on the right? I now understand that this is not the case." Halbe Zijlstra, leader of the VVD - the largest right-wing party, said. PvdA leader Diederik Samsom stated that they will just have to wait and see. Alexander Pechtold of the D66 only noted that this is a different profession for him.
