One missing, one rescued in Amsterdam boat crash

A team of rescuers from several agencies is searching for a person missing in the water after a pusher boat crashed into a yacht. The accident happened in the Westelijk Merwedekanaaldijk in Amsterdam Zeeburg at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. The yacht was stalled in the water after having mechanical problems, when it was rammed by the pusher. Another person aboard the yacht was rescued. Police and Waternet closed the waterway and bike paths to give rescuers space to maneuver. A helicopter was also involved in the search.
