Damage unknown in Amsterdam Museum fire

The Amsterdam Museum on Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal caught fire this morning. According to a spokesperson for the fire brigade, the small fire started in the attic of the building. Firefighters are currently working on extinguishing the fire and ventilating the rooms, Het Parool reports. Art works and exhibits are also being brought to safety. At this point the extend of the damage caused by the fire is unclear. The cause of the fire is still unknown. It is not clear whether the Amsterdam Museum, formerly known as the Amsterdam Historical Museum, will open today.
