Amsterdam Zuid expansion plan announced

Minister Melanie Schultz van Haegen (Infrastructure and Environment) has announced the design plan for Zuidasdok, which includes widening the underground of the A10 and modernizing the Amsterdam Zuid station. The A10 will get a total of 8 lanes for passing traffic and 4 lanes for destination traffic and will run under the current station. The tunneling at the Zuidas will give the outdated Amsterdam Zuid station space to grow into a high-quality public transport hub. "With the Zuidasdok project we give a substantial boost to the accessibility of this economically important area in Amsterdam. The Zuidas can develop into a top location for international businesses, shops and new homes." van Haegen said.
