Reckless driver beats pedestrian with bike wheel
A 67-year-old motorist from Eersel was taken into custody Wednesday evening after he beat a 57-year-old pedestrian unconscious with a bicycle wheel in Eindhoven.
Police say the argument between the two men started when the motorist almost ran over the pedestrian with his car. The motorist was reportedly speeding over Oude Bosschebaan and the pedestrian, who was walking his dog, had to jump out of the way to avoid being plowed down.
After he said something about it, the reckless motorist jumped out and as they quarreled, he first spat in his opponent’s face and then grabbed a wheel from a racing bike and slammed it into the man’s head.
The pedestrian lost consciousness briefly and needed stitches to a head wound. The brute was arrested shortly after.
