New world twirling record set at Carnival
Etten-Leur has broken the world record for twirling, Omroep Brabant reports. 3,524 carnival attendees gathered on the Markt in Etten-Leur to twirl together, thereby setting a new world record.
Twirling is a show sport that is performed on rhythmic music and is most commonly used in gymnastics and dance exercises. Athletes work with sticks that have ribbon attached to them.
The twirling event was arranged by the foundation MaMi. The foundation collected more than 3,600 sticks and countless meters of ribbons for the participants to use.
