Mother delivers own child before paramedics arrive

A 25-year-old pregnant woman from Letland delivered her baby alone and without any help in Zandvoort last night.

The woman who was at her sister’s house in Zandvoort was at home alone when she suddenly went into labor. She called 112 and police immediately sent out an ambulance to the address, but when the paramedics reached the scene it was all over.

The child, a boy, was lying in his crib, his umbilical cord already cut. He was bathed and wearing a cap and socks. The mom was also doing okay, but both were taken to the hospital for observation.
