Cosby Sweater creator Koos van den Akker dies

The Dutch designer Koos van den Akker passed away last night in New York at the age of 75. He was suffering from cancer. Van den Akker was most famous as the man behind the Bill Cosby's sweaters on The Cosby Show. He also inspired designers like Marc Jacombs and designed for singer Cher, among others, RTL Nieuws reports. Koos lived and worked in America where he was embraced by fashion houses such as Marc Jacobs and Balenciaga. In a 2012 interview with Fiona Hering he said: "The Netherlands was not concerned with fashion. Then my customers asked: can you adjust this and this? Terrible people, I won't go back for gold."
