Garbage truck driver didn't notice accident that killed two

The two victims killed by a garbage truck in Hilversum on Tuesday was an 84 year old man from Hilversum and his 78 year old wife. The police arrested the driver, a 52 year old man from Loosdrecht, and the passenger, a 31 year old man from Hilversum. The driver stated that he did not see the victims and did not notice that he hit them. It is still unclear how the accident could have happened. The police are investigating.
