More arrests in November football riot; 40 charged to date
Police in 's-Hertogenbosch say they have arrested seven more men in connection with riots and disturbances during the FC Den Bosch - FC Oss football match on November 1.
The suspects who are between the ages of 23 and 33 are from Oss, ‘s-Hertogenbosch and Venlo. They have been charged with public violence, threats and instigating violence.
Earlier this month police arrested 17 other suspects. Counting the men who were held on Wednesday and Thursday this week, the number of suspects held for the disturbances during the match now stands at 40.
Police say football violence is getting a joint approach. Authorities remain in close contact with the clubs and the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch. The names of the suspects are shared with the royal football union KNVB, which could decide to ban them from all stations in the country. On top of that the municipality and the public prosecutor could also place the suspects in parole.
