Teen shot down own mother: police

A 14 year old boy was arrested in Rotterdam last night on suspicion of shooting his mother. The emergency services initially received a report of an accident with fireworks in a house on Gijsbert Steenhoekstraat - a bang was heard and a woman was injured. After examining the woman, ambulance staff found that the woman was shot in the abdomen. Further investigation revealed that the woman had an argument with her 14 year old son in which a struggle arose. Presumably the 14 year old boy shot his mother in the abdomen. The mother's 43 year old partner and their 2 year old daughter were in the house when the shooting occurred. The boy fled the house immediately after the incident. He was later arrested in a fast food restaurant on Stadionweg. Officers found a firearm on the boy. The boy was taken to the police station for questioning. The woman was taken to the hospital.
