MH17: Personal items returned to next of kin this year

The relatives of MH17 victims have thus far not received any of their loved ones' personal belongings. Hopefully this will change in December. According to Harried Koelewijn, a spokes person for Victim Support Netherlands, personal belongings such as suitcases were returned to the Netherlands in August, but they first had to be examined for the purposes of the criminal investigation. "Furthermore, the National Institute for Health and Environment has to examine the belongings for any toxins." says Koelwijn. "Then the belongins go to Malaysia Airlines. Hopefulle the next of kin will get the first belongings back in December."
