Lena Dunham cancels Europe tour
Lena Dunham has cancelled the rest of her European tour promoting her autobiography, Not That Kind of Girl, after a stop in Amsterdam. The writer, director and actress flew back to New York reportedly feeling ill, according to a statement.
Dunham's abrupt departure follows an online row over her memoir. Dunham found herself a target last weekend when right-wing conservative media accused her of child abuse. Anti-progressive blog The Truth Revolt posted a snippet of her book online in which Dunham describes how she studied the genitals of her younger sister as a 7 year old girl.
The Truth Revolt headlined the post: "Lena Dunham describes how she sexually abused her sister."
Dunham responded in anger, and turned the tables on her critics suggesting it was they who had deep-seeded issues for sexualizing her story from when she was a pre-pubescent girl.
The right wing news story that I molested my little sister isn't just LOL- it's really fucking upsetting and disgusting.

I told a story about being a weird 7 year old. I bet you have some too, old men, that I'd rather not hear. And yes, this is a rage spiral.

Sometimes I get so mad I burn right up. Also I wish my sister wasn't laughing so hard.
