Last commercial MD-11 lands at Schiphol
The last commercial flight of the passenger aircraft McDonnell Douglas MD-11 landed at Schiphol on Sunday morning.
The KLM plane landed at the airport a little before 06:30 am.
KLM started using the MD-11, which is characterized by a third motor in the tail, in 1993. The list flight was conducted between Montreal, Canada and Amsterdam. The MD-11 was received at Schiphol with a salute by the fire brigade.
A large number of MD-11 enthusiasts were on board the flight. A Japanese MD-11 fanatic traveled to Montreal especially so that he could be on the last flight.
