ING to repay €1b Netherlands bailout

On Sunday, following the results of the banking examination of the European Central Bank (ECB), ING announced that they will pay off their state aid this year still. ING effortlessly passed the ECB's subsequent stress tests. Thanks to the positive results, the bank expects to be able to repay its state aid in full this year. The repayment still needs to be approved by financial regulators. In August ING announced that their last repayment of the more than 1 billion euro will be in May 2015 at the latest. In March the bank paid the final installment of the 1.225 billion back to the government. The group received a total of 10 billion euro in emergency aid from the Dutch government.
