Asbestos find shuts Groningen school
The CSG Augustinus school in Groningen is closed all week after the discovery of asbestos in the school building.
An investigation is ongoing to find out whether the school's students and teachers were at risk.
Last week asbestos was found in the old part of the school. Once measures were taken that building could open again. As a precaution, the new section of the school was also investigated. According to the director, it now appears that different parts of the building contain asbestos.
The Director stressed that the closing of the school is a precaution. "We don't want to take any risks," he said.
The asbestos will be removed from the building at the end of this week. Parents and students have been informed by letter.
