Police shoot dog in Amsterdam's Vondelpark

A aggressive dog attacked and bit a police officer in Vondelpark, Amsterdam this morning. The police officer shot the dog in the leg. Both had to go for treatment. The police officer was attacked by the dog as he got out of the car. According to the police the dog was not seriously injured. It is unclear why the police were called to the park and why the dog reacted so violently. The dog's owner took the dog to the vet. She will be invited to the police station to tell her story at a later date.
