1 killed as car crashes into Groningen shop

A car crashed into the front of a shop in the center of Groningen on Sunday morning. One person sitting in the car was killed, another heavily injured. The victim was brought to hospital where his condition is unclear, their identity is unknown, the NOS reports. The incident occurred at around 6.30 a.m. on Sunday morning in the Oude Ebbingestraat, the central shopping area of Groningen. Police say that they are not clear on the motive, but that the car was driving at high speed. Officers are currently investigating. There is some damage to the shop, but it seems manageable. The surroundings have been blocked off. According to RTV Noord Nieuws, the victims come from Groningen.
