Swedish retailer IKEA today urged customers who purchased the GUNGGUNG indoor children's swing to immediately dismantle them and return them to the store after two injuries related to the swings were reported to the firm. The swing, which has been sold in the Netherlands since March 2014, does not meet quality standards leading IKEA to recall the swing and provide a full refund.

The reports show that the suspension fittings on the GUNGGUNG swing poses a risk of serious injury.

Children using the swing run a risk of injury caused by sudden falls, an IKEA customer service representative said. Referring to the system that connects the swing to the ceiling, she said "Even if you use it normally, it can come loose."

Customers may return the swing without receipt or other proof of purchase. IKEA has asked that any customers in the Netherlands with questions about the recall call them at 0800-4532649.
