Schiphol's MH17 memorial moved
The flowers, plush toys and other items left at Schiphol airport in memory of the victims lost in the fated Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 have been moved. Florists and Schiphol staff worked on the move Sunday evening.
The new memorial is now in an space in the Traverse, under the World Trade Center, around 250 meters further on. This area has much more space, is covered, and also has a condolence book.
The NOS reports that the team of people involved in the move first inspected the flowers to see if they could be moved, or if they were too wilted. In the latter case, they were removed. The attacked cards were taken off and saved.
The new area will remain accessible for a longer time, according to Schiphol.
