Dead body in plastic wrap found floating in canal

Police say they have not yet identified the body that was found wrapped in plastic and floating in the Mark Canal in Breda, but they are certain it is linked to a crime.

The plastic wrapped body was noticed by the son of a shipper, as he and his father were sailing near the Terheijden Bridge close to Teteringen/Breda. They alerted the authorities and fire fighters brought the ghastly package ashore.

Police did not say whether it was male or female. They said they would launch an investigation into the identity and the cause of death. They figure a serious crime has been committed and that the attempt to dump the body was obviously meant to destroy the evidence of this crime.
