Man injured during police chase
A man from 's-Hertogenbosch was injured Sunday morning when all his caprioles to evade capture sent him crashing his scooter into a police car.
The 35-year-old man had been riding his scooter near Heetmanplain, when a police officer on a motorbike flagged him to stop, because his headlights were off. He ignored the summons and took off in the opposite direction. The policeman and a colleague set chase. Their suspect zigzagged through several streets in the city and kicked one of the officers twice, trying to make him crash. At Westwal the scooter rider was narrowly plowed down by a passing car. The chase finally ended at Stations Square, when the man crashed his scooter into a police car standing there. He was admitted to the hospital with several headwounds and a broken hand. The scooter was not insured and the man did not have a valid license. As the officer he had kicked filed a complained against him, he was put under arrest while recovering at the hospital.
