Airlines scrap flights to Tel Aviv
KLM is joining other big international airlines to stop all flights to Israel for the time being after a rocket came down very close to the airport in Israel's capital Tel Aviv.
KLM said that at least tonight's flight at 8.50 p.m. is cancelled. American airlines will not fly to Israel for 24 hours, as per the ban from American aviation authority FAA, and Germany's Lufthansa won't fly out for 36 hours.
The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has advised airlines not to fly to Tel Aviv, putting out a statement that "strongly advises" airlines to avoid the Ben Gurion airport in Tel Aviv, according to Reuters. This counts "for all European organizations.
A rocket from the Gaza strip was shot off, and landed close to Israel's biggest airport, the Ben Gurion in Tel Aviv. According to reports, one Israeli was injured in the strike.
