KNMI issues weather warning: extreme rain, wind
The Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute (KNMI) has issued a code yellow weather warning for much of the country, in relation to dangerous weather. According to the institute, the afternoon could bring thunder, wind gusts and heavy rain on the East, South and Middle and West from later on in the afternoon.
According to weeronline.nl there could be up to 40 millimeters of rainfall in the South, this amounts to 4 buckets per square meter. Normally, around 60 millimeters fall in the entire month of May. Apart from rain, there is also a chance of hail. It will become dryer towards the evening from the South.
The North will remain dry until the afternoon, but the first showers will travel over the South. This could bring thunder. The Northeastern wind is mild, but strong at the coast.
