Cop shoots crazed man at pharmacy
Police opened fire on a man who threatened people in the Haga pharmacy in The Hague late Sunday night.
Police say the 41-year-old man entered the pharmacy around 1.30am, wielding a bat and a knife and threatening staff. The staff called police, but when officers arrived on the scene, the man attacked them. One of the officers then shot him in his leg to subdue him.
When they patted him down they found more knights on his body, which were all confiscated. It is not clear why the man ran into the store. He was taken to the hospital for treatment and then to police lock-up.
The pharmacy at Leyweg stayed closed today
