Missing Utrecht businessman back from France
The missing businessman from Utrecht, Geurt Bagchus, is now thought to have spent the last three weeks in France. The 61-year old entrepreneur has been returned home by his family, and is safe, but is still under police protection.
According to a spokesperson for the family, the police presence is necessary because there is still no clarity on how and why Bagchus disappeared so suddenly on the 11th of March.
The official declaration states that Bagchus reached a French police station on Wednesday night last week where he was secured. The spokesperson says that Bagchus is healthy, but very traumatized.
Bagchus himself and his family do not want to talk about the possible reasons for his disappearance.
Police are still investigating what happened in Oog in Al last month. The neighborhood has been rife with rumors of abuse and attacks of which Bagchus could have been a victim. The culprit appeared in court last week in Arnhem, as he appealed the damages claims he had to pay.
In front of the judge, the man swore not to have had anything to do with the disappearance of Bagchus. The police also ruled out criminal activity.
