Royal family's Koningsdag schedule announced

The Netherlands will soon be celebrating its first King's Day. On the 26th of April, the municipalities of Amstelven and De Rijp have the honor of arranging the festivities for King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima. On Thursday, the programme was announced.  The Royal Family will be going on a 'time journey' on the 26th. From 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., they will be led through the historic museum of De Rijp. There will be heroes from the past, a musical programme, and a boat parade. The programme will then move on to Amstelveen at 12 in the afternoon, where the activities will focus on culture, green and sport. The festivities in De Rijp and Amstelveen will be manned by 1200 and 1400 volunteers respectively.
