Big fire at Venray, businesses evacuated

A large-scale fire in Venray caused the fire department to evacuate several dozens of employees from businesses on Wednesday afternoon. A business on the Nieuwhuisweg, which makes swimming pools and saunas, caught fire at around 12 in the afternoon. The flames were escaping from the roof, and the smoke was visible for miles. The fire is threatening to spread to neighboring businesses, the fire department says. A spokesperson for the fire department says that they are doing everything in their power to prevent the fire from spreading, instating more than ten fire trucks. Nobody has been harmed. The cause of the fire is unknown. The spokesperson says that the burning building is ruined, and can be considered as lost.
