Convicted for murder: no body
Frans J. from Arnhem heard a final sentence of 17 years and 6 months for the murder of mentally challenged amateur photographer Henk Peeters, in 2009, of whom the body was never found.
The High Council dismissed J.'s cassation request Tuesday, but lowered his 18-year sentence with 6 months, because it took a long time for the ruling.
J. claimed the Public Prosecution's records contained mistakes and should be dismissed. The High Council ruled however, those mistakes were corrected in an additional record, and the fairness of the trial has not suffered in any way.
