Child porn investigation in East NL revealed
The 'child porn' unit of the East-Netherlands police conducted a large-scale investigation on 20 addresses in February. So far nine suspects were questioned, but no arrests were made.
The investigation is a follow-up of the national campaign week 'hands off children, eyes off child porn' in October 2013. A total of 80 media carriers, such as laptops, USB storage, phones, and hard drives were seized for investigation.
All suspects were offered counseling. If any pornographic material is found the suspects will be apprehended at that time. The suspects were chosen based on information from the National Police, that was linked to locations and suspects.
The message police want to send out is that the possession of child pornography is not acceptable and that people can't hide behind anonymity or the use of cloud computing.
