One dead one wounded in fire, Limburg

One woman died, and a man was injured at a spreading fire at a home on the Hovenstraat in the Landsgraaf of Limburg last night. Residents of adjoining homes were evacuated, and were housed by neighbors. They were allowed to return to their homes early this morning. The fire broke out at 12.15 a.m. The fire department has not yet been able to find what caused the fire. Firemen found the dead woman inside the home while searching the plot. The man tried to enter the house while the fire was still raging, but he was held back by emergency services. He breathed in a lot of smoke, and had to be taken to hospital. It took several hours to extinguish the fire. Mayor of the municipality of Landgraaf, Raymond Vlecken, communicated via Twitter: "We are together with the family and the involved neighbors in our thoughts."
