Explosives found in Delft home; one arrest
A 33-year-old man was arrested Wednesday, after police were tipped off about explosives in an apartment on the Diepenbrockstraat in Delft. At least four adjacent apartments were evacuated early in the afternoon.
The Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) rendered the explosives harmless and removed them from the home. It's not clear yet what the man was planning to do with the explosives. The suspect is thought to be the resident of the apartment where the explosives were found, but police would not confirm that. The investigation in the apartment is ongoing. By late afternoon the residents of the evacuated apartments were allowed to return to their homes.
