Roofs rip off Breda homes

Following a heavy storm on Friday night, nine roofs were torn off homes in the Acaciastraat in Breda. Residents of the homes were extremely shocked when it happened. "This was unreal, you only see that in a movie!" a resident said. At around 3:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, all hell broke loose in the Tuinzigt area of Breda. Homes on the Acaciastreet lost roof tiles, which landed on parked cars. Nobody was injured. The council and the fire department had a lot of work to do to clear the ravaged area. "A loud bang tonight", a resident tells. "I thought that there was a wheelie bin bouncing through the street. When I looked out my window, it quickly became clear to me that it was not a wheelie bin." Another resident said: "This was unreal, you only see that in the movies. Actually, it's not supposed to happen with houses that are only twelve years old."
